How do I book?
Where do we meet?
Please scroll down to the bottom of the page to see where our surf van is located.
What do I need to bring?
Bring whatever you are comfortable to wear in the water. We recommend a pair of swimmers that fits snugly to ensure no loss of swimwear in the water! We do also provide short sleeved wetsuits.
Can I surf on my own board?
We encourage all of our students to ride their own boards (softboards), as it is beneficial for students to get comfortable on boards they will be riding outside of our lessons. We will however, provide advice on whether the board is suitable to the student at their current surfing ability and recommend different equipment if the board is slowing their progression.
We do also require an extra added level of responsibility where the student’s own board is fibreglass. If the student is unable to safely manage their fibreglass surfboard and it poses a risk to other water users, we will require the student to use one of our softboards.
Do lessons still go ahead if its raining?
We only cancel lessons if conditions are dangerous. We will notify you if lessons are cancelled. Please ensure you read our cancellation policy as not turning up to a lesson may result in forfeiting the lesson and/or a cancellation fee.
What if I can't make my lesson?
Please read our cancellation policy as different surf programs have different cancellation policies.
How many people can I expect to be in a group lesson?
We have a maximum of eight people per group lesson. In kids group lessons, we ensure that where there are more than four students that there is both an instructor and an assistant to ensure a comfortable lesson.
What age can my child start lessons?
The youngest kids we take is the age of five. We do recommend for all kids from five to eight that a parent be in the water to ensure lessons are as comfortable as possible.
Where do I get changed?
There are public bathrooms in the area with changing facilities.
Where is the cancellation policy?
You can view our cancellation policy here.
Where should I leave my belongings?
We allow students to place their belongings on the front seat of our surf van at their own risk. We do lock the van before every surf lesson, but are not responsible for any lost items.
How long until I can surf?
Most students stand up in their first lesson with assistance from our instructors, but catching your own waves poses the biggest challenge. Everyone learns at their own pace but we often find that three to five lessons can give you the tools for some independence in the water.
