About Us

our location

Kirra is renowned for some of the world’s best waves, with its famous sand bottomed barrels attracting surfers from all over the globe.

Not only is it a favourite spot for advanced surfers but also the perfect location to learn to surf. Kirra consistently provides the best conditions on the Gold Coast for beginner surfers due to the sheltered nature of the bay.

What to do in the area?

Other than surfing, Kirra has many great cafes, restaurants and bars you can enjoy. Kirra Pavilion is located directly in front of where lessons take place, allowing you to spectate your kids or otherwise enjoy a post-surf meal or beverage.

Kirra also offers an incredibly scenic boardwalk stretching all the way to the New South Wales border, perfect for a stroll or bike ride. The boardwalk has many beautiful viewpoints perfect for whale watching, photography or simply taking in the natural beauty of the area.

fun fact!

Kirra is one of very few waves in the world classed as part of a World Surfing Reserve
